History:

Spanish writer, son of sculptor Mariano Benlliure Gil and Leopoldina Tuero O'Donell (1868-1952). He was member of the "Grande Oriente Español" and his masonic affiliation was known because he was part of the editorial board of "Latomia" magazine, published by "La Unión" lodge. He was found hostile to Franco's regime and prosecuted by the Court of Political Responsibilities.
