Tishup, Victor was born on the 1st of August 1915 in Cecil Park, New York. He graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Sciences. He went to the Reserve Officers' Training Corps during 1 year. He worked as Laboratory Technician and Entomologist. He joined the Young Communist League in 1936. He sailed from the United States on the 16th of June 1937 aboard the "Aquitania" and arrived in Spain on the 28th of June 1937. He served with the 15th International Brigade in the Mackenzie-Papineau Battalion in training, in the Lincoln-Washington Battalion and in the 15th Army Corps. He served at Quinto and Belchite. He was wounded in action lightly on the 7th of September 1937. He returned to the United States on the 20th December 1938 aboard the "Ausonia". He went to the Second World War with the Armed Forces of United States.
