History:

Browne, William Warner Moore was born on the 15th of May 1915 in Birmingham, Alabama. He studied 2 years in college and worked as welder's helper. He joined the Communist Party and the Young Communist League in 1933 and in the second one he served as unit organizer. He sailed from the United States on the 29th of May 1937 aboard the "Britannic" and arrived in Spain on the 15th of June 1937. He served as Corporal with the 15th International Brigade, first in the MacKenzie-Papineau Battalion, then in the Lincoln-Washington Battalion and in May 1938 served again with the MacKenzie-Papineau Battalion. He returned to the United States on the 20th of December 1938 aboard the "Ausonia" and after that served in the Second World War with the Armed Forces of the United States.
