Spanish professor. She graduated in Philosophy and Arts by the former Universidad Complutense of Madrid. Teacher in the Institución Libre de Enseñanza. Daughter of Fernando de los Riós Urruti and Gloria Giner de los Ríos García. By the end of 936, she left to Paris, where her father kept working for the government of the Second Spanish Republic, although they later moved to Washington, along with Laura's friend, Isabel García Lorca. It was not until 1942, when their families (Ríos Giner and García Lorca) linked by the marriage of Laura and Francisco García Lorca, younger brother of the poet Federíco García Lorca, in New York. In the USA, she was professor of Spanish in the University of Columbia (New York). In 1967, she returned from her American exile into Spain.
