Spanish composer and musicologist exiled in Mexico. Married with Rosa García Ascot. Uncle-grandson of Marcos Sueiro Bal. He began his academic education studying music in Lugo. He got in touch with the magazine Ronsel, in which he published "Hacia el ballet gallego" (1924). He collaborated with Eduardo Martínez Torner in the creation of the "Cancionero Gallego" (1974). He studied medicine in Santiago de Compostela. He moved to Madrid, where he joined the Students Housing (1925-1933); he collaborated actively and met Francis Poulenc, Maurice Ravel, Ígor Stravinski, Federico García Lorca and Manuel de Falla. He collaborated with the Board for the Extension of Studies. He belonged to the Center of Historical Studies managed by Ramón Menéndez Pidal. He got involved in the Seminary of Galician Studies. He collaborated with the newspaper El Pueblo Gallego de Vigo. He was professor at the University of Cambridge. Exiled in Mexico. He returned to Spain in 1965.
