Spanish doctor, jurist, hellenist and hebraist, who converted from Judaism to Catholicism. PhD in Medicine, he abjured the Mosaical law in 1496 and taught Medicine at the University of Salamanca. The Cardinal Cisneros asked him to collaborate in the production of the Polyglot Bible.
