Spanish politician and professor that exiled in Mexico. He married Luisa González de la Calle and was father of Francisco Giral González, who was pharmacist as well as his father. He was professor of Inorganic Chemistry in the University of Salamanca (1905) and in the University of Madrid (1928). He also was designated Rector of the "Universidad Central de Madrid".
He founded the Republican Action Party with Manuel Azaña. Among his most oustanding posts were President of the Council of Ministers of the Spanish Republic in 1936, and President of the Republican government during the exile, between 1945 until January 1947.
When the Spanish Civil War was over, he exiled with his family, first in France and then in Mexico, where he was President of the Council of Ministers of the Spanish Republic in the exile (1945-1947).
