He was a Spanish deputy, jurist and professor who was born in Montefrío (Granada) and passed away in Madrid. Son of Guillermo García-Valdecasas y Páez (professor of Civil Law and dean at the University of Granada) and brother of Guillermo García-Valdecasas (professor of Civil Law in Granada), he married María de Andrada-Vanderwilde y Bachoué de Barraute (daughter of the Marquises of Cartagena). His son Guillermo was Rector of the Royal School of Spain in Bologna.
He began his academic education, graduating in Law by the University of Granada. He was a student of the Royal School of Spain in Bologna. He continued with his legal studies in Germany, where he obtained the doctorate in Philosophy and Sociology.
His academic career stands out because he obtained the chair of Civil Law from the University of Salamanca, changing to the University of Granada. After some period in Germany, he went back to the University of Madrid where he made use of the chair of European Doctorate of Superior Studies and Civil Law.

Doctor Honoris Causa by the University of Pavía.
