He was a Spanish jurist and professor who was born in Montefrío (Granada) and passed away in Granada. He was baptized with the name Guillermo Amador. Son of Alfonso García Valdecasas y Cubero and of Adriana Páez, he married Catalina García Valdecasas Fuensalida. He was the father of two well-known professors; Alfonso and Guillermo García-Valdecasas García-Valdecasas.
He began his academic education with the high school at the High School of Granada. He kept his studies with the degree in Law at the University of Granada. He received the doctorate in Law from the Central University.
His academic career stands out because he was a professor of Roman Law; Civil Law; and Spanish, Common and Foral Civil Law of the University of Salamanca. He took office of this last chair at the University of Granada, duly authorized. Due to relocation, he obtained the same chair at the University of Barcelona. By virtue of relocation due to a swap, he received the chair of Civil in Granada. In addition, he was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Law. He also obtained the chair at the Insigne Colegio Seminario de Teólogos y Juristas del Sacro-Monte of Granada.
