History:

She was a Spanish archivist. She was daughter of a trader born in Antequera and a woman from Madrid. She graduated in Philosophy and Literature in the Central University of Madrid in 1930 and, together with Carmen Caamaño, she co-founded the School University Federation (FUE) and the ¿Unión Federal Estudiantes Hispánicos¿

.In 1929, both of them were detained in the General Directorate of Security and imprisoned in the jail of Quiñones, accused of the decapitation of Alfonso XIII¿s bust located in the Auditorium of the Central University of Madrid. Moreover, they were also accused of participating in solidarity campaigns with the Majorcan engineer, Antonio María Sbert, whom she married in 1933. In 1931, she passed the public examination and entered the Corps of Archivists, Librarians and Archeologists. She was assigned to the ¿Archivo de la Delegación de Hacienda de Palencia¿

, where she worked from August to November 1931. That same year, on Christmas Eve, she held the position in the Archive of the Crown of Aragón. At the beginning of the Civil War, while her husband was ¿Conseller de Cultura de Generalitat de Catalunya¿, she created, together with Jordi Rubio I Balaguer the Servei de Biblioteques del front (library service at the front). After that, she got pregnant and she had to hide in Perpiñán until 1937, when her child, Antoni Antoni Maria, was born. When Barcelona fell, she went to France first, where she got the news that she had been ejected by the Corps with an official communication received on July 22th 1939. Then, in October 1942, she traveled to Mexico with her family taking the Nayssa from Casablanca to Veracruz. Collaborator of the JARE, in Mexico, she worked as the secretary of the feminist group Mariana Pineda which, in 1945, was fused together with Spanish Antifascist Women and lead to the creation of Spanish Women Union (UME). In this year she also had her second child, Josep María.
