Spanish professor, translator and syndicalists. She was born in Valencia in 1913, in a family of republican values. She did the baccalaureate in the Asociación para la Enseñanza de la Mujer, linked to the Institución Libre de Enseñanza, and in 1928, she entered the Federación Universitaria Escolar (FUE). In 1932, she began a degree on Philosophy and Arts, and soon she joined the UGT, participating in the foundation of the Sección de Institutos de Segunda Enseñanza de la Federación de Trabajadores de la Enseñanza (FETE-UGT). In 1934, she became a member of the PCE, the Spanish Communists Party. She participated in the electoral campaign of 1936, asking for votes for the Frente Popular. During the Spanish Civil War, she was teacher of History and Geography in Barcelona. Nevertheless, when Barcelona felt into the nationalists' hands, she ran away with her husband to the South of France, where they entered a concentration camp. In May 1939, they moved to the Soviet Union, where she taught to other Spanish refugees. At the end of the Second World War, they settled in Moscu, and her husband began to work in Radio Moscu. In 1958, she was named chief of the Chair of Romance Languages in the Superior School of Diplomacy in Moscu, a position she held until her retirement in 1971. That same year, she returned to Spain thanks to her relationship with the members of the PCE. Between 1971 and 1975, she worked as translator and, once Francisco Franco was death, she joined the Comisiones Obreras.
