History:
It was created as a result of the Constitution of 1869 and the Provisional Law (Ley Provisional del Poder Judicial at that time) of 1870. However, it was abolished by virtue of the Organic Law of Judicial Power of the 2nd of July 1985 when the Superior Courts of Justice (Tribunales Superiores de Justicia), whose territorial scope covered an Autonomous Community, were created.
