She was a Spanish librarian. When she started to study at the end of the late `20s, she lived in the ¿Residencia de Señoritas¿ (Girls Residence) in Madrid, directed by María de Maeztu. In the `30s, she redacted her doctoral thesis on Spanish iron handcraft with the supervision of Manuel Gómez Moreno. Her family was settled in Cervico de la Torre (Palencia) and her parents were respectively a doctor, her father, and a teacher, her mother. During the military coup in 1936, her family experienced the repression and her father and one of her brothers died. From 1933, she was a communist militant and she married one of the founders of the Spanish Communist Party, Emilio Gómez Nadal. She also led the syndicate Federation of Education Workers under the UGT (General Union of Workers). She stood out for her leading role at the Popular Culture Libraries during the Civil War and for her work as Delegate of the Ministry of Public Education in Valencia during the during the conflict. After the War, she moved to France with her husband where they joined the French Resistance. She died one year after the liberation of Paris, when she was 39 years old.
