History:

Concepción Muedra Benedito was a Spanish historian and archivist. She taught at the Institute School in Madrid for seven years and, from 1926, she was professor at the Department of Philosophy and Literature of the Central University. Moreover, she was a member of the Corps of Archivists and she was assigned to the Archivo Histórico Nacional (AHN; National Historical Archive), where she worked since 1930. Moreover, since 1936 she held a chair of Ancient and Medieval History of the World. She worked at the Instituto de Estudios Medievales (Institute of Medieval studies), collaborating with its director Claudio Sánchez-Albornoz. At the end of the Civil War she went into exile in Mexico, where she worked in the National School for Librarians and Archivists founded in 1945.
