Spanish archivist and librarian.

Born in Cuenca in October 1839. Son of the civil servant Feliciano Cordero Hernando, from Madrid, and Regina Camarón Grande, from Cuenca; brother of Ramona and Anacleta Cordero Hernando. He obtained the baccalaureate title in the Instituto Cardenal Cisneros. Then, he studied in the Escuela Superior de Diplomática, obtaining the Grado Archivero-Bibliotecario in 1863. From then, he will be member of the Cuerpo Facultativo de Archiveros, Bibliotecarios y Anticuarios, because in 1863 he wrote the Director General of Instrucción Pública, to apply for one of the vacant positions in concourse. He will be named assistant of third degree in the Archivo General Central of Alcalá de Henares that same year. He ascended to second degree in 1866. However, his health problems started, tertian fevers, which will be recurrent during his whole life, stopping him many times from going to his destination or asking licenses and extensions to re-establish his health.

In 1869, he was destined to the Archivo Histórico Nacional (AHN) of Madrid; nevertheless, he asked that, without prejudice to their new posting, he could continue working in the Bibliotecas of El Escorial and of Palacio Real, where he was commissioned from the Dirección General del Patrimonio. In 1870, he was transferred again to the Archivo General Central of Alcalá de Henares, but he asked for a license to remain in the Archivo Histórico Nacional.

He was destined in 1872 in commission of services, to the Convento de Santiago in Uclés (Cuenca) to prepare the transference of the cloistered documentation from the named "Archivo General de Uclés de la Orden de Santiago" of the Casa Conventual in Uclés to Madrid. For the given services in this mission, he was conceded the Cruz de Caballero of the Orden de Isabel la Católica.

In 1873, he solicited a services commission order of the Delegación de Patrimonio, to fix the Biblioteca de El Escorial, and the following year, the Gobierno of the I República, ordered him the classification of the Archivo Central del Ministerio de Fomento.

In 1889, he ascended to official of first degree, and in 1922, he was named boss of third degree of the Cuerpo de Facultativos de Archiveros, Bibliotecarios y Anticuarios. In 1894, he worked in the Biblioteca Nacional (BNE) with Marcelino Menéndez Pelayo, year in which the work of Francisco Asenjo Berbarí -friend of both- was donated to the BNE.

In 1897, he was destined to the Archivo Provincial de Hacienda of Ávila, and finally, he moved to the Archivo Provincial de la Hacienda of Madrid. In 1901, he ascended to boss of first degree, and retired in 1905. Being already retired, he was conceded the honours of Jefe Superior de Administración Civil.
