Spanish doctor and scientific that stood out for his research to eradicate the malaria in Spain.
He was son of Odón de Buen and Rafaela Lozano Rey. He graduated in Barcelona and married Berta López de Heredia, one of the daughters of a wine producer from La Rioja named López Heredia, and had four children.
When Italian researcher Gustavo Pittaluga arrived to Spain, Sadí's father gave him the task to be his assistant, something that made him to finally decide for parasitology. Along with Pittaluga, he directed the first Spanish Service of the Fight against the Malaria and also the "Comisión de Saneamiento de las Comarcas Públicas". Thanks to them, Sadí and Pittaluga were able to to carry out important research in the two greatest focus of malaria at the moment, Cáceres and Catalonia. In 1924 he founded the "Instituto Antipalúdico de Navalmoral de la Mata" (Cáceres), that became an international reference of the fight against malaria. His brother Rafael also worked in this institution, and Sadí was his master and partner.
In 1931 he was designated Director General of the Health Institutions and, the 23rd July 1936, when he was in Córdoba carrying out a research, he was arrested by the Nationalist faction and executed the 3rd September 1936. His widow and children exiled and settled in Mexico. Sadí de Buen is rememberd for being an innovative scientific because he was the first one to ever establish the biological control of the disease.

Sadí de Buen pasará a la historia por ser un científico innovador, ya que fue el primero en instaurar el control biológico de la enfermedad del paludismo. El engranaje de la organización antipalúdica española, puesto en marcha por Sadí, desapareció con la Guerra Civil; en 1942 la malaria era un grave problema sanitario en España.
